After two dreadful experiences with other gynaecologists, Mr Afifi (and the whole Endometriosis Clinic) was like a ray of sunshine! He takes time to listen and answer my questions and has helped me to understand what endometriosis is. He is a kind man who has always prioritised my quality of life. I have always felt in control and that I have choices. His PA, Kate Jordon, is fantastic - very organised and always calm and kind. Helen the nurse is very knowledgeable and also kind and caring. This is an expert clinic with a multidisciplinary team and I would recommend it to everyone!

Dr Afifi was recommended to me by an NHS doctor. With years of NHS ignoring my pain, I met Dr. Afifi through my private insurance. This was a blessing. I had a severe stage 4 endo. Dr Afifi had two surgeries on me which were quite intense but the journey was easier with Dr. Afifi. The scans recommended and care and support was good and top class.Priory hospital staff is exceptional. My first surgery was in Harborne Hospitals with a hopeless and substandard service quality , hopefully they can learn something from priory staff.I am very impressed with Dr Afifi and don't think any one else I met so far understands endometriosis better than him. He is the best!Just one star down for his team around him which can be better. PA and nurse are hardly accessible and reaching to them mainly the nurse is mission impossible. PA bothers to return calls at some point but never heard back from the nurse.

I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis at the beginning of the year, and Mr Afiffi was highly recommended to me. I'm so grateful to have found him! He took the time to listen to all my concerns and was transparent with me from the very start. He's an exceptional consultant with incredible knowledge. Thank you!

My experience with Mr Afifi was fantastic. Having been dismissed by the NHS for years I was apprehensive before my first consultation with him. He is compassionate and understanding, listened to my concerns and was direct in sharing his opinion on what diagnosis and treatment should look like. Within 2 months of consultation I’d had an MRI which confirmed adenomyosis and endometriosis and had my first excision surgery. All of my testing and treatment were completed at the priory hospital. All of the staff were fantastic, the nurses were so caring and supportive. The anaesthetist was great and had a calm demeanour that prevented any pre-op nerves and the recovery team were great. In the end I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and 47 lesions were excised from my abdomen. Recovery was easy and having access to Helen and the ward at the priory was such a reassurance. Helen the endometriosis nurse was a great comfort during recovery and was always happy to help and answer any queries I had. Katie was also great and made communication really easy. Following surgery Mr Afifi was again clear in his plans moving forward to ensure we spot endometriosis coming back before it becomes as bad as it was. I have been pain free since my surgery in May and truly feel Mr Afifi changed my life!If you are worried about endometriosis o couldn’t recommend him enough.

I truly don’t know where I would be without Mr Asifi. Without him and his clinic, I simply still wouldn’t have a diagnosis - after years of my symptoms being dismissed by the NHS, he was the first person to genuinely listen and take me seriously. He hasn’t just treated me - he has changed my life. His knowledge, care, and the way he actually hears his patients is something I hadn’t experienced before finding him. I finally have answers, a path forward, and hope, after years of feeling let down elsewhere.I’m so grateful to be under his ongoing care. If you’re searching for an endometriosis and adenomyosis specialist, who is not only exceptional at what he does but genuinely cares about the person in front of him, it’s him. Thank you will never feel like enough.

Had a total hysterectomy with bowel and bladder surgery under Mr Afifi. From the outset I felt listened to and understood regarding my condition and symptoms. I was incredibly unwell. Mr Afifi validated my thoughts and for the first time I had hope that I might regain some normality in the future. My surgery took place in The Priory Hospital Birmingham and the whole experience was great as was every member of staff I encountered. I was so well looked after. From day 3 I have felt like a new woman, despite being in early post op recovery I already feel better now than I did pre surgery. Mr Afifi arranged my HRT medication to take away before I left the hospital. I also received input from physio and a full referral to take to my local physio of choice. I have a two year continued care plan with Mr Afifi and I feel so grateful. If you have struggled with your endometriosis diagnosis and care through the NHS and are considering going private, I would 100% recommend Mr Afifi at The Endometriosis Clinic. I have been given a new lease of life. I travelled 5 hours for this surgery as it was important to me to get the best care available.

I had a robotic hysterectomy and removal of endometriosis and ovarian cysts with Mr Afifi at the Harborne Hospital. Mr Afifi is kind, understating and direct (which I appreciate) and he is certainly the best consultant I have seen in the 11 years I have been dealing with endometriosis. After my operation I had a few concerns a few weeks in to my recovery, and Mr Afifi took the time to call me at a weekend to check I was ok. You can tell he is someone who really cares about his patients. Everyone at the Harborne hospital was excellent from the anaesthetist, physiotherapist, nurses and all of the staff. Surgeries can be very daunting but the whole team helped to put me at ease. Thank you

I just want to say a massive thank you to Mr Afifi. Without him my beautiful baby girl would not have been possible. After suffering for many years with severe pain and infertility it was such a relief to be listened to and for my symptoms to be taken seriously. Following my surgery I was diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis. I will be forever grateful to Mr Afifi for giving me my quality of life back and helping me achieve my dreams of having a baby. He is truly a world class surgeon and a wonderful man.

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2015, when my gynaecologist Dr Chris Mann retired I was recommended to Dr Afifi. I can't recommend him enough, he has years of expertise and knowledge, his manner is calm and caring. He genuinely listens and takes his time, you never feel rushed. He told me his aim was to ensure I have a good quality of life and I genuinely believe that's his aim for all of his patients. He recently did my fourth surgery and I can't thank him enough, he has been there for any questions I've had pre/post surgery and has explained everything in detail. Despite the years of suffering with this disease I was never offered an MRI scan, he was the first to suggest this and I am so grateful he did. The MRI results were discussed with me in detail in person and I was given options for treatment, I was told I could go away and think about these options so I did not feel rushed at all to make a decision. The whole team at the priory hospital have also been amazing, everyone from porters, to admin staff, anaesthetists and nurses were all so lovely and caring.
